What We Do
The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, a non-profit organization, produces the largest international folk art market in the world, and our success led to Santa Fe’s designation as a UNESCO City of Folk Art.
The Market hosts an annual festive, weekend event on Museum Hill in Santa Fe, New Mexico adjoining our renowned partner, the Museum of International Folk Art.
The Market is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative and has made a commitment to expand market access for world folk artists.

Janet Nkubana
RwandaJanet Nkubana helped both Hutu and Tutsi widows organize themselves into a basket-weaving cooperative called Gahaya Links.
“I realized that this was an opportunity to not just have women earn money, it was an opportunity to build peace,” says Nkubana. Today, Gahaya Links has close to 4,000 weavers whose art is helping them earn an income and rebuild lives. In 2011 she will be returning to the Market for the fourth year with Gahaya Links’s signature “peace baskets”, featuring a zigzag motif that represents friends walking side by side.
