Volunteer Opportunities

Listed below are volunteer positions available during the Market:

Any Job as Assigned (July 1-14)

Be willing to do any of the jobs below, and available during Market days. You will be assigned to work where needed most.

Artist Assistant (July 8-11)

Assist an individual artist with booth set-up and sales.

Artist Hospitality (July 3-13)

Pick-up artists at the airport, help artists keep to their schedules, help with artist meals.  Most duties for this committee are off site, including the Sage Inn where the artists are staying.

Artist Training (July 6-8)

Help with planning, material preparation and logistics during the artist training sessions.

Admissions/Ticketing (July 9-11)

Help with ticket sales, ticket collection and hand stamping at the entrance; greet customers and manage customer lines.

Cashier/Assistant Cashier (July 9-11)

Help at the payment booths.

Decorate the Site (June 28 - July 8)

Help decorate the site on Museum Hill prior to the Market.

Drink Kiosks (July 9-11)

Spend your day in the “cool” booth, giving out water and selling soft drinks.

Green Team (July 8-14)

Assist with the Market’s recycling efforts by assembling recycling collection sites, monitoring and collecting recyclables. Also may include clean-up on July 12th (and 13th if needed) to gather remaining recyclables.

Office Assistant (ongoing)

Be available to assist with tasks such as preparation for mailings, Xeroxing, and needed secretarial duties or errands.  Be available to be called upon particularly between May 1st and the end of the market.

Post-Market Breakdown (July 12-13)

Help with booth breakdown and clean-up after the Market.

Transportation Team (July 9-11)

Greet visitors in the offsite parking lots, hand out Market information, answer questions, and direct visitors to the bus loading areas.

Visitor Survey (July 10-11)

Assist in conducting a short survey by talking to market visitors, using a PDA to collect audience data.

Volunteer Training

Attending a volunteer training session is mandatory for all – returning volunteers and newcomers alike.  Information about training will be sent to you once you are registered as a volunteer.


Training will be held in the end of June.
