Paintings on Amate Paper
As has been the tradition in his region of Guerrero, Pedro Diaz utilizes the fig bark paper made by Otomà groups in San Pablito, Puebla as the ground for his extraordinary paintings in ink. When he was 10, Pedro began to draw and sell his paintings in Taxco. He prefers themes that draw upon history, traditional dress and fiestas. His work includes mural commissions, one of which was exhibited in Germany.
