Monday, July 05, 2010
Direct from Havana, playing crowd-pleasing Afro-Cuban rhythms, TradiSon to play first U.S. Shows at the International Folk Art Market.
Santa Fe, July 1, 2010: TradiSon is the house band at Havana’s La Bodeguita del Medio restaurant, famous for its mojitos and its storied clientele, including Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Neruda. They play the style of Cuban music known as ‘son’ - a traditional style that combines Afro-Cuban rhythms with Spanish melodies. TradiSon consists of a singer, a stand-up bass player, a percussionist, and two guitarists playing the small Cuban guitar or ‘tres,’ and they will be performing for the first time in the United States at the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market
