What We Do
The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, a non-profit organization, produces the largest international folk art market in the world, and our success led to Santa Fe’s designation as a UNESCO City of Folk Art.
The Market hosts an annual festive, weekend event on Museum Hill in Santa Fe, New Mexico adjoining our renowned partner, the Museum of International Folk Art.
The Market is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative and has made a commitment to expand market access for world folk artists.
Featured Artist
Mireille Delismé
HaitiMireille Delismé began her career as a factory worker in Haiti, sewing beads and sequins onto bridal gowns.
But a spirit came to her in a dream, and she began making vodou flags or drapos. Delismé’s richly sequined drapos have become so popular that she now runs a workshop that employs eight people. But the 2010 earthquake has left her, along with all Haitians, in uncertainty. “Life in Haiti has been hard and moving at a slow pace,” she says. “With what earnings I can make by selling my art, I support not only my daughters, sisters, aunts, brother and mother, but also my friends.”
