2013 Market Entertainment Schedule
Celebrating 10 years of bringing the world together: The Market debuts the Festival-au-Desert: Caravan for Peace Concert. This is a co-production with ¡Globalquerque! featuring Mamadou Kelly, Tartit and Imharhan at The Lensic on July 10th.
Returning as Folk Art Market favorites are Tradison (Cuba) and the West African Highlife Band (South Africa). Add to the entertainment - Ihhashi Elimhlophe (South Africa), multi-talented Market artists, Randrianomanana Mandimbihery Roger and Randriamanantena Edmond (Madagascar), Jalol Avliyakulov (Uzbekistan) and Aldar Tamdyn (Tuva), as well as local favorites to create a unique cultural experience.

Thursday, July 11th at The Railyard
West African Highlife Band and Ihhashi Elimhlophe (South Africa), as well as a trio of
festival craft aritsts: Randrianomanana Mandimbihery Roger and Randriamanantena Edmond (Madagascar), Jalol Avliyakulov (Uzbekistan) and Aldar Tamdyn (Tuva). Thursday is free to the public at the Railyard – come dance and celebrate with the Market Artists!
Friday, July 12th at The Market Opening Party
Returning for the 10th Anniversary, direct from Cuba – TradiSon (Cuba). This band specializes in the musical form son, a combination of Afro-Cuban rhythms and Spanish melody. The group was formed with the goal of presenting the best Cuban musical roots, incluing guaracha, guajira, bolero and more. TradiSon are the heirs to the mantle of the Buena Social Club, playing traditional music from the 30s and 40s.
