Work by Serge Jolimeau

Serge Jolimeau was inspired as a child by the blacksmiths in his neighborhood. He learned metal work from the LouisJuste brothers in Croix des Bouquets where Georges Liautaud created cemetery crosses made from iron bars and recycled metal. With the discovery of these crosses, a new and original art form was born that has resulted in thousands of new jobs in Haiti.

Serge opened his own shop by the time he was 20. His work has been shown at the Brooklyn Museum and at LACITA in Biarritz, France.

The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, a non-profit organization, produces the largest international folk art market in the world, and our success led to Santa Fe’s designation as a UNESCO City of Folk Art.
