Ikhtiyor’s ancestors were carpet makers from Afghanistan and brought this skill with them when they moved to Uzbekistan long ago. The family’s skills were passed from generation to generation and Ikhtiyor learned carpet making from his grandfather and his father who also taught him the art of natural dying. The designs used for their carpet making are from ancient Afghan designs and they carry out this craft using natural dyes which enhances the value and beauty of each carpet.
