Nizwa, the capital of Oman’s interior region, is among the largest of the fortified towns that stand guard over the inland trade routes linking Muscat with the Gulf. Nizwa has a thriving souq (market) that caters to locals as well as villagers from the mountains and the Bedouin who travel from Oman’s desert region.

Ali Abdullah Mohammed Al Kindy is a member of the Al Kindy tribe from Oman’s interior regions. He is a young artisan from a family of silversmiths. Ali’s work focuses on the traditional designs unique to Omani jewelry.
