Key Dates for Folk Art Market Participants
Dates of the 2014 Folk Art Market: July 11, 12 and 13.
The following applications are on this page (see “How To Apply” below): the 2014 Folk Art Market Application / Independent Artist; the 2014 Folk Art Market Application / Organizations – Cooperative, Non-profit, Business or Individual Sponsor; and the 2014 Financial Assistance Application. The 2014 Financial Assistance Application must be completed and returned with the appropriate, completed 2014 Folk Art Market Application: Independent Artist or Organizations. (Please review the 2014 Financial Assistance Application for eligibility requirements).)
The 2014 Folk Art Market Application and the 2014 Financial Assistance Application must both arrive in the Market office before October 1, 2013.
By December 30, 2013, by email, applicants will be notified whether or not they are invited to participate in the 2014 International Folk Art Market – Santa Fe. Anyone who is invited – and who also applied for Financial Assistance – will be notified in January 2014 whether or not they will receive Financial Assistance.
How to Apply
There is no application fee.
Applications cannot be emailed or faxed.
The Folk Art Market Application must be provided by each individual artist, cooperative, individual sponsor, non-profit organization or business. If an artist, cooperative, individual sponsor, non-profit organization or business would like to bring more than one type of medium (for example, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, etc.) to the Folk Art Market, a separate application must be provided for each type of medium.
Three copies of each Folk Art Market Application must be mailed to the Market office in Santa Fe, New Mexico. If applying for financial assistance (eligibility will need to be established), only one copy of the Financial Assistance Application must be included with the Folk Art Market Application.
The 2014 Folk Art Market Application is available here in PDF format, and can either be filled out electronically, saved and printed, or printed and filled out by hand. (If you don’t already have it, you can download the free Adobe Reader here.)
IMPORTANT:
The photographs you provide can either strengthen your application or weaken it, depending on the quality of the photographs you provide. Because the Artist Screening Committee evaluates art work based on the photographs provided, and these photographs illustrate the art work you are writing about in your application, it is very important that photographs represent the art work clearly and well.
Also, if you are recommended by the Artist Screening Committee for participation in the Folk Art Market, the photographs that are provided as part of your application may be used for many purposes, including publicity and on the Market’s web site. You must have the legal rights to use the photographs you send us.
